This year thousands of youth will transition out of the foster care system at the age of 18 (or 21 in some states). This means they may be in need of food, shelter and other essentials that formerly were provided by the institution that removed them from their parents (state/local government).
She Ready Foundation understands the concept behind giving one a fish and eating for a day; verses teaching one to fish who eats for a lifetime.
That's why we are taking the lead in teaching our young people to fish!
She Ready Foundation supports youth by preparing them with practical learning through our Life Leadership Academy with enhanced skillsets and then placing them in paid internships that can lead to full time employment. Our partnerships with leading entertainment industry professionals offer a 10-12 week paid internship providing youth the skills and experience needed to obtain gainful employment.
Once employed, youth are well on their way to being able to provide for themselves and lead productive lifestyles.
